A new wine experience by Pointer: wine bar at classical music concert

We are delighted to team up with Spielende Insel and pair the music of Maurice Ravel, Manuel de Falla, Claude Debussy und Nadia Boulanger with 3 wines from France, Spain and of course, Romania. We cannot disclose yet the Spanish and French sips, but the Romanian one comes from our favourite French duo living and making wine in Romania, Domeniul Catleya. You can find our team at the improvised bar in St. Matthäus Kirche, 30' before the concert and during the 30' break. 

Spielende Insel was founded by pianist Cătălin Serban and cellist Andrei Ioniță (both Romanian). The project is Berlin based, but plays internationally, bringing together outstanding young musicians from the international classical scene to explore chamber music in ever-changing constellations.

To mark the 150th anniversary of Maurice Ravel's birth, this concert is dedicated to the colourful range of French music around 1900 - with a special focus on the Spanish influence that shaped Ravel's musical language just as much as that of his contemporaries and companions.
